Mommy- A Busy
Figure
The young sun wakes the mommy, hurries with morning
errands
and back to
bedroom, to wake up her two favourite people.
The daughter
goes to school with tears in her eyes.
Is she not a
good mother?
Mommy, the search flight finds her mate’s files and keys.
He goes off
with angry face without saying farewell.
She considers him a part of her life.
Is she not a good wife?
In the
school, children wishes her good day.
She teaches
them with all her heart, the values in life.
At the end of the day they go away with evil say.
Is she not a good teacher?
Reaching home at five in the evening,
her daughter waiting to ask her,
“Mommy, what took you so long?
Why don’t you stay at home like Daza’s mom?”
Mommy has no time, has laundry,
cleaning, cooking, lesson planning
And time soon
to go to bed.
Mommy asks,
“Have I done all the work?”
Her daughter often asks, “Are you my new mom?
Do you love me?”
Her questions fling her back, back
to recollect what wrong she did?
She stares at the open sky, puzzled like a student caught
cheating by a teacher,
Wondering how she could be a perfect wife, a perfect
mother, a perfect teacher…
